Why agencies, consultancies and professional-services firms discount differently
In services, a discount is usually a scope cut the client didn't notice. This pack routes early (5%), holds a 30% margin floor that catches a fixed fee sold under its hours, and ships a rule that asks what came out before a fixed fee is discounted.
The ladder this pack starts you on
| Who signs | Discount | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Self-serve | up to 5% | No signature — the rep finalizes it. |
| Sales Manager | above 5%, up to 15% | Signs, then hands it on if the discount climbs further. |
| Finance | above 15%, up to 25% | The last rung: past it nothing finalizes. |
- Margin floor 30% — a quote under it routes to Finance.
- A reason code on any line discounted more than 5%.
A starting point, not a benchmark: it imports as a staged draft that prices nothing until someone in your workspace publishes it, and every number above is one field to change. The policy builder and the leakage audit will tell you where yours should sit.

It pairs with
QuickBooks, Xero, Sage Intacct — the back offices agencies, consultancies and professional-services firms most often run. An approved quote goes to each through a connector that is still in beta or preview — see where each stands — carrying who approved its price.
Pick someone else if…
- You need resource scheduling and utilisation on the quote — a PSA tool will fit better; Glime does not plan who works on what.
- Most of your work is billed time-and-materials with no quote at all — there is nothing for approvals to govern.
